Down past Takoradi in the Western region of Western Ghana we pass through Agona Nkwanta and Dix Cove from where we proceed via the Old Town Road. Just about 0.8 km before the old fishing village of Akwidaa- also an old fishing village - is the Akwidaa Inn, frontal to the Atlantic Ocean and brushed by sea breezes .
The lodge is a rustic presentation of traditional African lodge accommodation. Each of the eight rooms situated there contain simple clean bedding / mosquito nets and electric fans / with en-suite bathrooms. The view from the doorways is the Atlantic Ocean and a green vibrant tropical garden luxuriating in the West African sun.
The rooms are cement-rendered, mud-walled and thatched dwellings having colourful interior decors. Akwidaa Inn is a place to benefit from complete retreat from the rigours of Western societal life.
This sentiment has been most often expressed by reviews appearing regularly on booking.com and other digital media presentations. Along with this is the claim by travelers that our beach-front is the cleanest in Ghana.
